The Cypress Klein Utility District will hold a public hearing to discuss the proposed tax rate for the 2024 tax year on:

Analysis of the Proposed Tax Rate

The proposed tax rate for 2024 remains unchanged from last year at $0.101500 per $100 of value. However, due to the increase in average appraised residence homestead value from $327,429 to $349,596, taxes on the average residence homestead will rise from $332.34 to $354.84. This results in an annual increase of approximately $22.50, or a 6.77% increase in taxes for the average homeowner.

Although the tax rate itself is not changing, the increased property values will lead to higher taxes for many homeowners. If the combined debt service, operation and maintenance, and contract tax rates result in more than an eight percent increase in taxes, an election will be required to approve the new rate.
